Taking the first step.

I want to talk to you a little about taking the first step. The first move in a game of chess, the first lap of the Daytona 500, the first time you tried sushi, the first time you drove a car…

Getting up the courage to venture out into business is not always easy. I know how it feels to “think” you have job security. Time and time again, I remember saying, “Well, its not what I really want to do, but I get a check every week and I’m getting by just fine.” I can only promise you that building your own income feels a thousand times more secure!

Today, we are so afraid to do what no one else does. We are told from the time we’re 12 years old to go to school, get an education, find a great job and stay with it. Why? So we can be $50-$80k in debt, still have trouble finding a good job, then if we do make it up the corporate ladder only to get replaced by someone that demands a lesser salary. Ask yourself this. Do you know anyone that has comfortably retired before the age of 129, that did not work for themselves? Probably not!

So what can you do to break out of that comfort zone? Well, here is some advise for start. If you work a regular 8 to 5 and just can’t seem to take the “risk”, think of it this way. If you start something part time, what’s the risk? The fact that you truly don’t have to quit your job or change the way you live to give it a shot, means the risk is not really a risk at all. The real “risk” here is that you’ll do well and then you’ll have to actually quit your day job and go full time. Hmmm how nice would that be. Wake up one day and be getting paid more from doing nothing than you would if you punch in to your job for the day.

If you research the most successful people on the planet, you’ll soon realize the one thing they have in common is they all failed. Some several times, but they all kept trying. No one will ever be free until they work for themselves and learn to “Leverage.”

So whether there is a hobby of yours that is just burning inside you to start something, or you would like to get involved in network marketing, just remember this. Enjoying life and having time to be with family and friends is worth more than any dollar amount. You don’t have to make millions of dollars a month to feel success. Do your research, find your niche market, start part time- but whatever you do, Take that First Step.
